It is with a massively heavy heart that I am having to post this.

Late last week, myself and the rest of the committee were informed that the building that currently houses ourselves (fodrccc) as well as a number of small business and storage units, had been made “unsafe” following a routine inspection of the building and it’s surroundings.

What does this mean? It means, sadly, we have to close the doors on this chapter of the FODRCCC and look for new venues to house the club. The Vantage Point group will be liaising with ourselves to try and source a new venue for the club, and we hope that we will be able to secure something soon. In terms of the track, equipment and all the other bits and bobs associated with the club. We have until early march to get it all out of the current and stored away.

I am extremely hopeful that during this month, we will be able to find somewhere in the Forest Of Dean that we can continue to use and enjoy for our racing needs. And will be working hard with the other committee members to keep this extremely important community asset going.

Worst case, we have to get all the kit out by the early March deadline. Obviously, we will need some help to remove the items from the Raceway, so expect some weekends in the lead up to march to be a heavily volunteer “army” so that we can get all the items we need removed.

Best case, our talks with Vantage Point prove swift and quick and we can move the club somewhere else on site. Be that a temporary setup, or a more permanent one, we just don’t know at this stage.

I will endeavour to update you all as soon as I can with any news, good or bad.
