Introduce brushless motor regulations for the GT / Group C class, allowing either a 21.5T or 25.5T motor.

Reason for Proposal

The change is intended to encourage more people to join the class. Bruce feels that the existing brushed motor rules have hindered participation and discouraged some drivers from trying the class.

Potential Drawbacks & Concerns

With Bruce’s imminent move back to Dubai, he hopes the class will continue to attract participants and remain active.

The Proposal

Formally combine the 17.5T Blinky Touring Car class with the Endurance specification classes (21.5T LMH and 17.5T Justock GT3), allowing them to race together on track.

Where entry numbers require it, the classes would run together during a race meeting. The Race Director would retain discretion to run them separately where appropriate.

Reason for Proposal

Endurance racing is a growing format, and the current Endurance regulations align well with the club’s existing Blinky Touring Car rules, which permit motors of 17.5T or above.

Combining the classes would provide a practical way to accommodate both formats at club meetings.

Review and reorganise the club’s storage areas, including:

• Remove the old track equipment.
• Move the carpet currently stacked outside into suitable storage.
• Ensure the storage racking is properly secured.

Reason for Proposal

To improve health and safety by ensuring club equipment is stored securely and storage areas are kept safe and organised.

Review and improve the way the club’s indoor carpet is moved and stored. This should include:

• Using larger-diameter rolls to help reduce the risk of rippling.
• Providing better or additional dollies, or similar equipment, to make moving the carpet easier.
• Exploring a more suitable storage arrangement, ideally using the side room so the carpet can be moved directly in and out.

Reason for Proposal

To improve the overall process of moving, handling and storing the carpet, helping to make setup and pack-down more efficient while protecting the carpet’s condition.

Develop and agree on an official plan of action for the club’s outdoor track.

Reason for Proposal

As previously discussed within the club, a defined plan would provide a clearer direction for the future development of the outdoor track.

Align the gearing regulations for the TT-01 Stock Touring Car class with those used by Chippenham RC Club.

The proposed gearing regulations would be:

• Chassis: Tamiya TT-01.
• Differential: Unlocked differential.
• Maximum pinion: 28 teeth.
• Spur gear: 55 teeth.

Reason for Proposal

Matching the gearing regulations would allow club members to test and prepare their cars for the Chippenham series without needing to change their gearing between events.

It would also make the class more accessible to drivers from other clubs who already run the same gearing, reducing the hassle of modifying their TT-01 cars to attend Forest of Dean meetings.

Potential Drawbacks & Concerns

The gearing limit would need to be clearly defined and consistently enforced. The proposed change is also intended to work well with the club’s new track size.

Introduce a trial Youth Representative role on the club committee, focused on helping more young people get involved in RC racing and supporting their development within the sport.

The role could include:

• Providing tuition and practical guidance to young drivers.
• Helping new members with car setup and preparation.
• Supporting young racers as they progress into organised racing, both within the club and at external events.
• Exploring earlier club sessions during school holidays, allowing younger members to attend without such late finishes.

Reason for Proposal

To encourage the next generation of racers, strengthen the club community and help secure the club’s long-term future by developing a sustainable pathway for young people entering the sport.

Introduce a minimum number of entries required for a class to run independently. If a class has fewer than four entries, classes should be combined.

Reason for Proposal

Could make other races longer and would stop the situation where two people are marshalling six drivers.

With the new cycle track, it could generate more interest and create funds for the new outdoor track with minimal financial input.
