The Forest of Dean Radio Controlled Car Club has been keeping RC racing alive in the Forest since 2013. What started on a small 12x6m carpet track in Ruspidge quickly grew, and after years at Vantage Point we’re moved to a temporary setup at the Miners Welfare Hall in Cinderford. In early 2026, we were contacted by the owner of Forest Oak Farm, offering us the use of a tremendous space, as well as multiple options for a complete national standard outside track on site.
Every Monday night the hall is transformed into a 20x15m high-grip carpet circuit, delivering close, competitive racing week after week.
Racing runs every Monday of the year, with an open practice session every 7th week to give drivers a chance to test setups, experiment, or just enjoy extra track time. Doors open at 5:30pm for track build, and racing begins around 7:00pm. A typical night includes three qualifiers and one final for every driver (numbers permitting).
We cater for most electric on-road classes, with strong grids every week in:
- Tamiya Iconic Touring Cars
- 1/12 Minis
- Formula 1
Other electric classes are welcome too – if you’ve got something different, bring it along and we’ll do our best to get you racing. (Nitro cars aren’t permitted indoors.)
