Morning all you club racers and lurkers!

Just wanted to let you all know some updates from the past week that the committee have been working on ahead of a committee meeting next week.

We got back in contact with Vantage Point!!

We wanted to explore if the management at Vantage Point were keen to actually work with us, and get us back to having a permanent venue. The reasons we’re still after a permanent venue are because we have noticed a drop off in drivers racing. It’s pretty clear to us that many people enjoyed the convenience of the old place. Turn up, kit out, car on track. Compared to how it is now, even with committee members showing up early and getting the track out, where it’s track out, pits setup, race, pack away.

Now, we had heard from an un-named source that NOTHING had been touched in our previous venue, so we were keen to reach out to Vantage Point and just see what the chances are for us going back in and racing again. The door has been well and truly shut on us for that. With a “recommendation” of rent to be 10x what we used to pay (and that doesn’t take into account any fees that could crop up).

Having a permanent track in Vantage Point, is definitely an idea that is now over and fully out. We have our suspicions as to why we were “evicted” back in February, but we will move on.

The club is still going to seek out another venue, be that a permanent setup or at the very least somewhere a touch bigger. Track size is down by 32sq/m compared to the previous venue and we’d really love to get a bigger layout out so more people can enjoy the racing together.
