02 December 2025 – Official Club Report

After twelve months of racing, eight championship rounds, hundreds of heats, thousands of laps, and enough tyre additive to polish the Hall floor permanently, we reached the end of our 10 Year Champs — a year-long celebration of a decade of Forest of Dean RCCC.

The final round brought one of the biggest and most competitive Tuesday night turnouts of the year, with representation across Touring Cars, Minis, Formula 1, and Group C/GT10. Even better, our surprise guest trophy presenter was none other than retired chairman (but still lightning-fast driver) Mark “Radders” Raddenbury, stepping back into the spotlight for one more important job.

This is how the finale unfolded…

TAMIYA TOURING CARS (ICONIC)

Qualifying – Three Rounds of Tight Battles

The Touring Car field was stacked, and the pace reflected it.

Mark Raddenbury set the tone early, topping all three qualifying rounds with identical 27-lap runs. His fastest lap dropped to 8.42, making him the man to beat.

Behind him, Tim Redgewell-Green stepped up in Round 2 to match Mark’s lap count, while Chairman Chris Milner kept himself firmly in the fight with consistent 26-lap runs and sub-9 lap times.

Midfield battles were fierce, with Shane Childs, Sam Motterham, Mark Tippins, Martin Matthews, Louie Charles, David Couchman, and Chris Bullock all within a few tenths of each other on raw pace. Exactly what a championship finale deserves.

Finals – Milner Takes Command

C Final

Winner: Chris Bullock – 28 laps
Strong pace and consistency secured the win ahead of Benn Gulliver and Jason Bennett.

B Final

Winner: Sam Motterham – 30 laps
Sam delivered one of his drives of the season, fending off Martin Matthews and Louie Charles in a brilliant three-way battle.

A Final

Winner: Chris Milner – 34 laps

When the title was on the line, Milner put in his strongest drive of the year:

  • 34 laps
  • 8.56 best lap (one of the fastest TC laps of the night)
  • Total control from tone to tone

Shane Childs followed him home with 31 laps, and Mark Tippins completed the podium with a superb performance.

An unfortunate electronics issue meant no representative run for Raddenbury in the final, but his qualifying pace reminded everyone he hasn’t slowed down.

SPECIAL MENTIONS – LMGT3, GT12, BLINKY TC, 2WD M-CHASSIS

These classes didn’t reach trophy-eligible attendance numbers this year, but they still deserve recognition:

GT12

⚡ Dominated by Mark Bruton-Young when he raced — faultless pace all season.

Blinky Touring Car

🥇 Shared honours between Raddenbury and Bruton-Young, both taking perfect scores when present.

LMGT3

💨 Garry Higgins represented the class strongly throughout the year.

2WD M-Chassis

🏁 Wins shared between Mark Hicks and Keiran White, both showing excellent pace.

We’d love to see these classes grow next season — the pace is there, they just need the numbers.

A SPECIAL END TO A SPECIAL YEAR

With every class decided, every final run, and every trophy handed out by Radders, the club closed out the 10-Year Champs in true Forest Raceway style:

  • Fast drivers
  • Close racing
  • Laughter on the rostrum
  • A few heroic saves
  • A few heroic crashes
  • And a whole lot of community spirit

A huge thank you to EVERYONE who took part this year — whether you raced once or every round, marshalled, spectated, helped pack away, or supported a driver.

Here’s to the next decade.
See you on track.
